Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward Bans Short-Term Vacation Rentals in Residential Zones
The Shinjuku ward government in Tokyo will prohibit short-term vacation rentals in residential neighborhoods and near educational facilities, eliminating more than half of existing listings. The measure aims to address neighborhood disturbances and housing shortages caused by unregulated tourism accommodations.
