Vienna restrains 16 times more domestic abusers than Prague, though both have same laws

Two weeks of safety. That's how much time victims of domestic violence can gain when police or a court step in. Barring orders, which remove abusers from the home, have existed in Czechia for nearly 20 years, and this year police report record use. But access to this crucial tool varies across the country and even within regions — as field research by the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the iROZHLAS.cz data team shows.
