US Revokes Iran Oil Sanctions Waiver Amid Tensions Over Tanker Attacks
The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) revoked a license allowing trade in Iranian oil, following attacks on three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. This move comes as the US had previously revoked a license allowing Iran to sell its oil, which Iran condemned as a violation of an MoU.
