Generalni sekretar zveze Nato Mark Rutte je po sestanku z Donaldom Trumpom v Washingtonu na ameriški televiziji CNN povedal več stvari, ki v Evropi niso nikogar presenetile. Strinjal se je s Trumpom in okrcal nekatere evropske zaveznike, pri tem pa 'odkrito' dejal, da je vojaško zavezništvo "platforma za projekcijo moči Združenih držav" in da glede Irana podpira Trumpa in Izrael.
