Telecommunication Network Not Defined as Emergency Service in Iceland
Several issues have arisen during the phasing out of 2G and 3G telecommunication systems in Iceland, including approximately 6,000 phones unable to connect to the emergency line, problems for foreign tourists, and inactive eCall emergency systems in many vehicles. The telecommunication network is not defined as an emergency and security service.
