Tamoil Refinery Chimneys Demolished in Swiss Spectacle

The last two chimneys of the Tamoil refinery in Collombey-Muraz, Wallis, Switzerland, were demolished on Thursday afternoon in a controlled explosion, drawing spectators to witness the event.

Spektakel im Wallis: Tamoil-Schornsteine gesprengt

In Collombey-Muraz VS wurden am Donnerstag gegen 14 Uhr die letzten beiden Türme der Tamoil-Raffinerie gesprengt. Schaulustige versammelten sich vor Ort und beobachteten das Spektakel aus sicherer Entfernung. Die beiden Türme hatten eine Höhe von fast 100 Metern und wogen zusammen über 4000 Tonnen.
