Switzerland Confirms Patriot Air Defense Purchase, Considers Second System

The Swiss Federal Council has decided to proceed with the purchase of the Patriot air defense system and plans to acquire a second system. Additionally, the VAT for the army will be increased by 0.5 percent.

Der Bundesrat hat entschieden, dass die Schweiz nicht aus dem Kauf des Patriot-Luftabwehrsystems aussteigt. Aber es soll daneben ein zweites System geben. Zudem soll die Mehrwertsteuer für die Armee um 0,5 Prozent erhöht werden – statt um 0,8 Prozent.
