Swedish Waste-to-Energy Plants Rely Heavily on Imported Trash

Swedish municipal power plants are increasingly burning imported waste to generate cheap energy, with trash imports from the UK, Italy, and Poland surging by 189 percent between 2010 and 2024.

Szwedzkie elektrociepłownie produkują tanią energię, spalając coraz więcej śmieci sprowadzanych m.in. z Wielkiej Brytanii, Włoch oraz Polski – poinformowała gazeta „Dagens Nyheter”. W latach 2010-24 import odpadów wzrósł o 189 proc., z 1,34 mln ton do 3,86 mln ton rocznie.
