Strong Winds Overturn Boats, 61 Evacuated on Polish Lakes

Strong winds caused boats, kayaks, and sailboats to overturn on two lakes near Żywiec, Poland, over the weekend, leading to 26 interventions and the evacuation of 61 people by WOPR.

Wiatr wywracał łodzie. Ewakuowano ponad 60 osób

Miniony weekend był bardzo pracowity dla beskidzkiego WOPR. Na dwóch jeziorach pod Żywcem w ciągu weekendu ewakuowano w sumie 61 osób w czasie 26 interwencji. Silny wiatr wywracał łódki, kajaki, a nawet sporej wielkości żaglówki. "Rekordowa okazała się niedziela - w skali siły wiatru i w skali zdarzeń" - przekazał nam szef żywieckiego WOPR.
