Odesos tarptautinio kino festivalio atidarymas Kijeve virto netikėto triukšmo centru – rugpjūčio 27-ąją renginyje pasirodžiusi dainininkė Vera Brežneva sukėlė dalies Ukrainos visuomenės pasipiktinimą. Nors atlikėja festivalyje nedalyvavo kaip programos viešnia ir scenoje nepasirodė, jos pasirodymas renginyje privertė organizatorius viešai aiškinti, kas ją pakvietė ir kokį vaidmenį ji turėjo.
