Russia Sells Gold Reserves for First Time Since 2000s to Cover Budget Deficit
Russian authorities have begun selling physical gold from the Central Bank's reserves for the first time since the 2000s to cover the federal budget deficit, which has exceeded 15 trillion rubles (approximately 150 billion USD) cumulatively for 2022–2025.
