Psilocybin treatment, intended for depression patients unresponsive to standard medication, is currently only available to a select few in the Czech Republic due to limited facilities and insurance coverage. Experts are now planning radical changes to broaden access.

Měla pomoct lidem s depresí, u kterých selhávají běžná psychofarmaka. V Česku je takových pacientů asi čtvrt milionu. Jenomže nakonec je slibná léčba psilocybinem spíš záležitostí pro vyvolené. Nabízí ji jen omezený počet pracovišť, pojišťovny ji navíc nehradí. Stojí přitom desítky tisíc korun. „Na to bohužel většina lidí s vážnými duševními obtížemi nedosáhne,“ kritizují stav odborníci.
