Portugal Sees Decade-High Abortion Rates, Linked to Immigrant Population
Abortion rates in Portugal have increased by 5%, reaching their highest level in the last decade. Nearly 40% of these voluntary pregnancy terminations were by foreign women, a trend the DGS attributes to the growing immigrant population and barriers to family planning access.
