Polish Health Ministry Responds to Presidential Veto on HIV/HCV Treatment

The Polish Health Ministry announced that individuals with HIV will have access to medical visits and antiretroviral treatment regardless of insurance status, and the National Health Fund will cover treatment costs for HCV patients in prisons, following a presidential veto.

Osoby żyjące z HIV, niezależnie od statusu ubezpieczeniowego, będą miały dostęp do wizyt lekarskich i leczenia antyretrowirusowego. NFZ pokryje też koszty leczenia chorych na przewlekłe wirusowe zapalenie wątroby typu C (HCV) w zakładach penitencjarnych. Przewiduje to projekt Ministerstwa Zdrowia. W ten sposób resort reaguje na wcześniejsze weto prezydenta.
