Poland to Replace Pap Smear with HPV HR Test for Cervical Cancer Screening

Poland will replace the traditional Pap smear with the HPV HR test for cervical cancer screening, effective August 1, 2026. This new test will be free of charge and will not require a referral.

Od 1 sierpnia 2026 r. test HPV HR stanie się podstawowym badaniem przesiewowym w kierunku raka szyjki macicy i zastąpi tym samym wykonywaną dotychczas klasyczną cytologię. Badanie jest bezpłatne i dostępne bez skierowania.
