Parents Appeal for Reopening of Pediatric Brain Tumor Ward in Katowice, Poland

Parents of children with oncological diseases have launched a petition to reinstate treatment for children with brain and other solid tumors at the Upper Silesian Child Health Center in Katowice, Poland, following the merger of departments in Katowice and Zabrze.

Rodzice dzieci chorych onkologicznie rozpoczęli zbiórkę podpisów pod apelem o przywrócenie leczenia dzieci z guzami mózgu i innymi guzami litymi w Górnośląskim Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka w Katowicach. Po połączeniu oddziałów w Katowicach i Zabrzu część specjalistów nie podjęła pracy w nowym ośrodku, a mali pacjenci wymagający leczenia neuroonkologicznego są dziś kierowani do Warszawy i Łodzi.
