More than 1,600 cases of the parasitic infection cyclosporiasis have been reported in the United States, with 144 hospitalizations, marking an unusually high number of cases expected to continue rising.

The CDC has confirmed more than 1600 cases of the parastic infection from cyclospora and is working to confirm at least 5,00 thousand more, and 144 ppl have been hospitalized. Case counts are "unusually high" and expected to continue to increase in the coming weeks.
