Kongehuset erklærer hoffsorg fram til 9. oktober, en måned etter kong Haralds gravferd. Det innebærer at alt offisielt program avlyses, med unntak av statsråd, åpningen av Stortinget og utvalgte audienser, skriver kongehuset. Under hoffsorgen vil både kongefamilien og ansatte ved hoffet ha på seg mørke klær eller uniform med sørgebånd.
