Mito: Limited express train collides with car at JR Joban Line railroad crossing
Just after 9 AM on the 13th, a limited express train collided with a car at a railroad crossing on the JR Joban Line in Mito City. According to the fire department, one person was in the car and rescue operations are currently underway. Approximately 560 passengers and crew were on board the limited express train, but according to the fire department and JR, there are no injuries reported at this time. Due to this accident, train services on the JR Joban Line have been suspended in both directions between Tsuchiura Station and Katsuta Station in Ibaraki Prefecture.
