Lithuanian leaders, including the President and Prime Minister, have acknowledged systemic issues highlighted by an audit of defense procurement and pledged to strengthen control over the process. They aim to improve the efficiency and speed of defense acquisitions.

Valstybės kontrolei (VK) nustačius, kad neįvykusių ginkluotės ir karinės įrangos pirkimų dalis per dvejus metus išaugo 2,5 karto, prezidentas Gitanas Nausėda sako, jog auditas atskleidė sisteminių problemų, kurias būtina kuo greičiau spręsti. Pasak šalies vadovo, ypač svarbu trumpinti laiką nuo kariuomenės poreikių nustatymo iki jų patenkinimo.
