New rules will let Latvian army requisition private land in an emergency

On Tuesday, August 18th, the Cabinet of Ministers supported amendments to the National Security Law proposed by the Ministry of Defence, which provide for granting the National Armed Forces the temporary right to use land owned by private individuals, if it is deemed necessary for national defence.
