Latvia Restores Power to Most Households After Storm

Most households have electricity restored after storm in Latvia

After the storm that ravaged Latvia over the weekend, as of the evening of August 25, electricity had not yet been restored to 17,000 households. Power has been restored to the high-voltage lines; work is now underway on the medium- and low-voltage lines, where the cables have been torn by the wind and the electricity pylons have been toppled. Latvian Television travelled to the Jēkabpils area to find out how the restoration of the power lines is progressing.
