Laos Bans Import of New Gasoline and Diesel Cars to Cut Fuel Costs
Communist Laos has announced a ban on the import of new passenger cars with internal combustion engines starting June 1, 2026, while exempting electric models from excise duties. The primary goal is to reduce the cost of importing expensive fuel, not environmental concerns.
