Kumamoto Brush Fire Extinguished After 13 Hours, Water Pressure Issues Cited
A brush fire that broke out in a bamboo grove in Uki City, Kumamoto Prefecture, on August 6 was largely extinguished approximately 13 hours later on August 7. Firefighters reported that the extinguishing efforts were hampered by insufficient water pressure from fire hydrants, possibly due to earthquake damage.
