Velvyslanec Evropské unie v Nigérii Gautier Mignot upozornil na fakt, že Rusko verbuje vojáky v afrických zemích, aby vyztužilo své řídnoucí řady ve válce na Ukrajině. Podle velvyslance afričtí muži plní roli „lidské munice“, africké ženy pak Rusko zaměstnává ve válečné mašinerii. „U některých afrických zemí se nedá vyloučit aktivní spolupráce s Ruskem. Ruský narativ je zde přítomný,“ říká Tomáš Výprachtický, velvyslanec v nigerijské Abuji.
