India Directs Himalayan States to Prepare for Glacial Lake Outbursts and Avalanches

India's Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed Himalayan states and union territories to enhance preparedness measures and early warning systems against glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) and avalanches.
