Increase in Income Criteria Boosts Statutory Poverty Statistics in Poland
The Central Statistical Office (GUS) estimated extreme poverty in Poland at 5.3% of households for 2025, a stable figure for years. However, statutory poverty statistics significantly increased due to higher income thresholds for social assistance.
