Ta miejscowość w obwodzie wołyńskim kojarzy się źle: w niedzielę 11 lipca 1943 r. oddział UPA dokonał tam mordu na ok. 90 Polakach. Ale w połowie XVII w. był to ważny ośrodek Braci Polskich.
