Google Play Removes Sanctioned Russian Apps Max and VKontakte
Google Play has removed several Russian applications, including the Kremlin-backed messenger Max and VKontakte, VK's flagship social network, three days after the EU sanctioned their parent company, VK. This action follows the imposition of sanctions against the Russian tech giant.

VK said on July 16 that the Max messenger and the VKontakte social network apps had been removed from the Google Play app store. The Odnoklassniki social network app is also unavailable there.
