Od 934 miliona poljoprivrednika i radnika u poljoprivredi širom sveta gotovo polovina njih (46 odsto) svake godine doživi akutno trovanje pesticidima, pokazalo je istraživanje Mreže za akciju protiv pesticida (Pesticide Action Network) obavljeno u časopisu Granice javnog zdravlja (Frontiers in Public Health), a odnosi se na period od 2006. do 2023. godine.
