Ghana Lost $11.4 Billion to Gold Smuggling, IMF Reports
According to an IMF Ghana Selected Issues Paper, Ghana lost an estimated US$11.4 billion in gold due to smuggling activities between 2019 and 2024. The report was prepared as background documentation for Ghana's 2026 Article IV Consultation.
