Cabinet directs Attorney-General to draft bill protecting state assets from arbitrary disposal

President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the Cabinet has directed the Attorney-General, Dr Dominic Ayine, to draft a new bill aimed at strengthening the protection of state assets. The move follows the approval of the State Assets Protection Bill by Cabinet. Speaking at the Ghana Civil Society Forum 2026, the President said the proposed legislation would establish clear guidelines for the disposal of any state asset, including lands, buildings, factories and industries.
