German Steel Industry Faces Job Cuts, Calls for Social Partnership Solutions
The German steel industry is shrinking, with at least twelve percent of jobs expected to be cut. Gerhard Erdmann from the Steel Employers' Association advocates for social partnership solutions with IG Metall to manage the transition, warning that without proactive measures, insolvency administrators will ultimately dictate the process.
