General Birame Diop Appointed New President of ECOWAS Commission

Senegalese General Birame Diop has been named the new president of the ECOWAS Commission, succeeding Mahamoud Ali Youssouf. In his inaugural address, he called on member states to prioritize regional unity and strengthen institutional cooperation.
