You can never know with mushrooms, say fungi experts

This summer has been both warm enough and damp, yet there is little variety of mushrooms in the woods. It is difficult to explain why this is the case, but it is possible that, following the recent rainfall, the ground is already too wet for them, expert mycologists told Latvian Radio on 24 August.
