Former Ito City Mayor Indicted for Forging Graduation Certificate

Makiko Takubo, former mayor of Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, has been indicted on charges of forging a graduation certificate by having seals of Toyo University officials created online, among other offenses.

学歴詐称の疑いが指摘され、書類送検されていた静岡県伊東市の田久保真紀前市長について、静岡地方検察庁は30日、インターネットを通じて東洋大学の学長らの印鑑を業者に作成させ卒業証書を偽造したなどとして有印私文書偽造や地方自治法違反などの罪で在宅起訴しました。関係者によりますと、これまでの任意聴取に対し、前市長は告発されていた容疑について「犯罪の成立を否認する」と主張していました。
