The fence covers selected sections of Finland’s 1,340-kilometre border and is intended to deter unauthorised crossings and strengthen surveillance. The Finnish Border Guard announced the completion of the project on Monday at an event in Nuijamaa, near the Russian border in south-eastern Finland.
