Estonian peasants became pawns of tsarist settler colonialism
In the late 19th century, thousands of land-starved Estonians migrated to the Caucasus in search of better lives. Unknowingly, they became instruments of Russian settler colonialism, according to a researcher from the Estonian National Museum.
