Čelil tlaku, zda ohnout záda a ustoupit. Táta se rozhodl a neustoupil, prohlásila v Tchaj-peji Vendula Vinšová, dcera někdejšího předsedy Senátu Jaroslava Kubery. Právě on původně plánoval návštěvu Tchaj-wanu, těsně před jejím uskutečněním v roce 2020 ale náhle zemřel. Vinšová pronesla svá slova před promítáním dokumentu Jsem Tchajwanec, mapujícího okolnosti první cesty českých politiků na ostrov.
