Czech regions oppose VAT introduction on public transport orders

The Pilsen Region and municipalities in the Czech Republic are opposing a proposed amendment to the VAT law that would introduce VAT on public transport orders starting in January 2028.

Plzeňský kraj a obce nesouhlasí se zavedením DPH na objednávku veřejné hromadné dopravy. Počítá s tím navrhovaná novela zákona o DPH, která má platit od ledna 2028, uvedl náměstek hejtmana Pavel Čížek (STAN). Podle něj by se DPH musela platit z takzvané kompenzace, tedy z rozdílu mezi tím, co kraj zaplatí dopravcům, a tím, co se vybere na jízdném.
