Clear Traces of Turbidity Current Confirmed on Toyama Bay Seabed, Linked to Noto Earthquake and Crab Decline

A research team from Toyama University has confirmed clear traces of a 'turbidity current' on the seabed of Toyama Bay, which is suspected to be the cause of decreased crab catches following the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

能登半島地震の影響を調べている富山大学の研究チームが、富山湾の海底で起きた「乱泥流」と呼ばれる激しい泥の流れの明確な痕跡を初めて映像で確認しました。地震のあと富山湾ではカニの漁獲量が減少しましたが、県の水産研究所はこの泥の流れが原因だと指摘しています。
