Belgian Mayor Convicted on Appeal for Conflict of Interest

Jean-Luc Evrard, the mayor of Jemeppe-sur-Sambre, has been convicted by the Liège Court of Appeal for conflict of interest in the sale of communal property to his nephew, overturning his previous acquittal.
