Alstom Wins $4.7 Billion Contract to Build New VIA Rail Cars in Canada

French rail manufacturer Alstom has secured a C$4.7 billion agreement to produce more than 300 new passenger railcars for Canada’s VIA Rail network. The deal includes a commitment to manufacture all vehicles domestically, marking a production shift away from the United States.
