1937 Soviet Arctic Flight Attempt Ends in Disaster
A 1937 attempt by Soviet pilot Sigizmund Levanevskij to fly from Moscow to New York over the North Pole ended in disaster when his Bolchovitinov DB-A aircraft disappeared somewhere over the Arctic.
