10 European Pond Turtles Released into the Wild in Daugavpils Wetland
Ten European pond turtles were released into the Ruģeļi wetland in Daugavpils on July 15. Biologist Mihails Pupiņš described them as 'little rangers and modern dinosaurs,' noting they had grown sufficiently over five years to survive in the wild.
