A three-member probe panel has claimed that the Sambhal violence, which occurred during an ASI-monitored survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in November 2024, was 'pre-planned' and has linked an SP MP and MLA to the unrest that resulted in four fatalities.

The managing committee of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, an ASI-protected site involved in ongoing Supreme Court litigation, has requested urgent permission from ASI to repair a damaged boundary wall.
