Icelandic telecommunications company Sýn hf. has initiated bankruptcy proceedings against Jón Einar Eysteinsson, with the case scheduled to be heard in the District Court of Reykjavík.

Sýn hf. reported total revenues of 6.073 billion ISK in Q4 2025, a 6% increase year-on-year. However, the company recorded an overall operating loss of 634 million ISK for the entire year, with the media division accounting for 462 million ISK of that loss.

Icelandic company Sýn hf. has filed a complaint with the Media Committee, alleging that the national broadcaster RÚV violated advertising laws in connection with a television program.

The board of Sýn hf. has decided to enter into exclusive negotiations with Síminn hf. regarding the sale of its web and radio media outlets, Vísir and Bylgjan.
