UNESCO Adds Alvar Aalto Architecture, D-Day Beaches, and Other Sites to World Heritage List
UNESCO has expanded its World Heritage List, including 13 sites designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy, and Georgia's Okefenokee Swamp, among other cultural and natural landmarks. The additions highlight diverse global heritage, though some newly listed sites, like Aalto's, face funding challenges for preservation.
