India's Ministry of Home Affairs has granted another six-month extension to the panel investigating the Manipur violence. The extension allows the committee more time to complete its inquiry and submit its report.

The chief of the panel investigating the Manipur violence has resigned, with a former Supreme Court judge set to take over the commission, which has received around 11,000 affidavits.
