A national security police officer in Hong Kong has been sentenced to 20 months and four weeks in prison for taking upskirt photos and attempting to seize another officer's gun during his arrest.

A Hong Kong national security police officer has admitted to filming upskirt footage of a woman and attempting to seize a colleague’s handgun, reportedly in a bid to harm himself after his arrest.

Hong Kong national security police raided an independent bookstore and arrested two individuals, including a former pro-democracy district councilor, on suspicion of sedition. The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown under the national security law.
